Why Dr. Nicole Martin Leaving RHOM Would Be a Disaster for Fans

When the Real Housewives of Miami was given the green light for the reboot, fans were elated. Not only did viewers get back some of the OGs, but a few fresh faces were also added to the mix. Nicole Martin was a younger Miami doctor who confidently stepped into the role of a Bravo Real Housewives . The mother of two brought a fresh take to the franchise. She was unmarried but living and raising a family with her partner on her own terms. She quickly became a fan favorite, so fans were confused when news broke of her departure. Bravo, make it make sense!

Nicole Martin has left the building

On September 10th, news broke via Page Six that Nicole was not returning to film Season 7 of RHOM. A source close to production revealed that the board-certified anesthesiologist was not present when cameras picked back up in the 305. The insider shared that the rest of the cast from Season 6 had all reprised their roles. This includes Alexia Nepola, Lisa Hochstein, Larsa Pippen, Julia Lemigova, Guerdy Abraira, Adriana de Moura, Marysol Patton and Kiki Bart. The source noted that fans can also expect a few new faces to be added to the mix. No one is quite sure why Nicole decided not to return. But the mother of two also revoked “RHOM” from her Instagram profile. Keep in mind many Real Housewives do this before the beginning of a new season, it’s a thing.

Nicole has been a busy bee, and it might have been hard for her to hold onto her mojito these last few months. Nicole has been planning a wedding after her fiancé, Anthony Lopez, proposed in 2021. But more excitingly, the couple welcomed their daughter, Genevieve, to the world in March. In an Instagram post, Bravoleb updated fans by writing, “Mom and baby girl are recovering from a C-section that was earlier than expected.”

RHOM fans will be disappointed

While as a human, I can empathize with Nicole’s plate being full as a fan, I am devastated. Nicole was the perfect mix of professional and housewife. Nicole did the Real Housewives of Miami right. When she found herself involved in the drama, she was never wrong. She highlighted her wealth, especially when it came to yacht shopping, and she had unbeatable style. Nicole came off as extremely likable, and she was able to blend in easily with the rest of the women.

Nicole was quick with her witty remarks and often knew exactly where to pierce the skin of another uncompromising Real Housewives star. Who could forget the famed mirror disinvite she sent to Larsa? After insinuating Nicole slept her way to the top, the doctor sent Larsa a not-so-subtle message on a mirror. The poem read, “Mirror, mirror on the wall,” she read. “Who’s the fakest of them all? Take a good look. I see who you are. Do you? See yourself uninvited to our engagement party.” Classic.

There could still be hope for Nicole Martin

Okay, so before we panic, even though Nicole isn’t filming now, she could always return in the future. If she wants to do the six degrees of separation and be cute from a distance, fans are here for it. She can talk about the drama via Watch What Happens Live , podcast her thoughts, and then come back whenever she feels like it.

I imagine that Nicole decided to step back from production. The network is aware of the gem they had with the doctor and wouldn’t risk letting her go on her own. It makes sense that Nicole would want to spend quality time with her family, and she doesn’t need the Bravo paycheck to survive. Even though fans can respect the decision, it doesn’t make it hurt any less. But the one thing that keeps me going is that good Bravolebs always come back around. It might take a few months or a few years, but I am sure we will see Nicole back in Miami-Dade County one day.
