DWTS Star Anna Delvey Discusses Decision to Bedazzle Ankle Monitor

Anna Delvey is quickly becoming known for her ankle monitor on Dancing with the Stars . Her ubiquitous ankle candy is getting as much attention as her dances thanks to her decision to jazz it up and bedazzle it.

And she’s not shy about sharing the secrets behind her ankle bling too. After all, for someone so entrenched in fashion, is it really that surprising that she’s accessorizing for the show?

After the premiere of the new season, the “fake heiress” and fashion publicist spoke with Page Six about how she was working with the DWTS wardrobe team to help bedazzle her tracking device.

“We collaborated with the costume department,” she shared. “Obviously, we couldn’t leave the ankle bracelet naked, so we decided to match it to my dress.”

“It’s like a sleeve,” she added. She clarified that the bling was actually applied onto the fabric of the sleeve and not to the ankle monitor itself. Some people were complaining about that and the message it sent so she made sure to be clear about what she did with the bracelet. “It was a fun thing to do!”

Her pro dance partner, Ezra Sosa , has also gotten in on the ankle bracelet fun. He showed off a matching bedazzled ankle bracelet that he wore when he and Anna were at New York Fashion Week.

However, his ankle bling has yet to appear on the actual show. It was just an accessory for fashion week. This isn’t to say that it won’t at some point in the future.

“In all honesty, they asked me not to wear it,” he admitted. “I was planning on wearing it, but I think that’s something for, you know, maybe later on this season.”

Guess we’ll have to wait and see if their matching ankle accessories make an appearance in later performances. For now, the duo finds themselves in a three-way tie with Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten and Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchencko with a score of 18 for their Cha-Cha to Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso.

“Hopefully, I will improve and do better next time,” Anna said of her first performance.

Dancing With the Stars airs simultaneously on Disney+ and ABC Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
