Former RHOC Star Elizabeth Vargas Explains Why Shannon Beador Had ‘Cart Full of Alcohol’

Shannon Beador is developing a knack for engaging in drama with Real Housewives of Orange County alums. Perhaps counting Alexis Bellino on that list isn’t quite Shannon’s fault. But she is choosing to give Elizabeth Vargas the cold shoulder over an off-the-cuff remark that made it on air.

Shannon’s alcohol intake has been under scrutiny on RHOC Season 18. During the premiere episode, a comment was made about the veteran Bravolebrity being seen with a shopping cart full of alcohol. It turns out that Elizabeth’s brother was the one to spot Shannon at the store. Now, the RHOC alum is embroiled in her former co-star’s storyline.

Elizabeth Vargas admitted Shannon Beador “wasn’t drinking it”

Half of the cast stayed at Elizabeth’s house during a trip, but there was drama behind the scenes after a podcast exposed Elizabeth’s connection to the comment about Shannon’s shopping trip.

Elizabeth was on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast recently to explain how her relationship with Shannon went downhill since the premiere aired.

“My brother had mentioned something about a grocery shopping cart full of alcohol because she was seen at the grocery store next to my house,” the RHOC alum shared.

Elizabeth passed the information along to Gina Kirschenheiter , but one important detail was omitted.

“It was for everybody at this party. She wasn’t drinking it,” Elizabeth admitted, per Shannon’s explanation.

As a result of the context, Shannon has iced Elizabeth out of her life. That included declining an offer to appear on her podcast, an event that shocked the RHOC alum.

“She’s like, ‘At this time, that would be a negative. I’ve bettered myself. I’m getting help,’ and I’m like, ‘huh?” Elizabeth said.

“I watch the first episode of this season, and my brother’s on there talking smack…about Shannon,” she explained.

“She thinks I’m spreading the stuff where she’s still an alcoholic, and I think she’s sensitive to the fact that she got the DUI and I was part of this alcohol grocery cart thing,” Elizabeth said of understanding Shannon’s frustration.
