The children of Julie Chrisley wrote letters to the court on behalf of their mother before her resentencing hearing. Savannah Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley both urged the judge to release their mother from prison.

Julie and her husband Todd Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best were found guilty of fraud and tax evasion in 2022. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison while Julie was sentenced to 7 years in prison. The Court of Appeals denied the family’s attempt to have Todd and Julie’s sentences thrown out. They did, however, rule there was not enough evidence to link Julie to crimes before 2007 so they agreed to resentence her.

The kids tried to free Julie Chrisley …

Before the resentencing, Savannah and Grayson wrote letters to the judge presiding over Julie’s case. Radar revealed that the letters described the hardships the Chrisley family has faced since their parents went to prison in 2023.

In her letter, Savannah said that “the trauma and pain of separation have felt like a lifetime of punishment.” She was writing the judge as both a daughter and a woman raising her younger siblings.

Savannah also detailed how difficult the past two years have been and that she was not prepared to step into a motherhood role under these circumstances. She shared that the uncertainty was heartbreaking and that she feels the strain every day as she juggles fighting for justice and freedom and struggling to provide for the family.

She also added the abuses her mother had to endure in prison and ended her letter with a passionate plea for the judge to send her mother home.

Grayson, for his part, shared how much he misses his mother. He asked the judge to show them grace.

The irony is, that this is the plight of many children whose parents are in prison. Letters and ardent pleas rarely have a bearing on the legal system. Sure enough, during the sentencing hearing, the lower court resentenced Julie to the same seven years.

Now, Savannah is speaking out about how unfair she finds the judge. She claims the judge “weaponized” their letters and is making targeted attacks on their family.

They did the crime so unfortunately like every other criminal in the world. They will have to do their time.

She spoke at the RNC Convention. My guess is hoping for Trump to pardon her parents.
