Southern Charm’s Olivia Flowers Engaged to Alex Williams

Olivia Flowers endured a rough Season 9 of Southern Charm . Heartwise, her romance with Austen Kroll ended poorly, but this is nothing shocking, as any of the men in this series have issues with commitment. And the truth. Thankfully, Olivia has since moved on from these children. Alex Williams , her boyfriend, has just received a title upgrade to fiancé, and we love everything about this for Olivia.

Southern Charm alum Olivia Flowers is engaged to Alex Williams

Goodbye, southern commitment-phobes . Hello, engagement ring! On September 25, 2024, Alex asked for (and received) Olivia’s hand in marriage.

Speaking with PEOPLE , Alex explained that his proposal involved a lot of planning, but thankfully, his efforts paid off. Olivia’s parents and many of her close friends received a heads-up (from Alex) to head to the Big Apple for his grand ask. This gesture on Alex’s behalf made his proposal even sweeter, as it offered an uplifting memory for a family who has already endured so much.

Last year, Olivia lost her only sibling, Conner Flowers , to an accidental overdose . This horrific moment was seen in Season 9, breaking our hearts.

Seeking a win, Alex began planning his proposal earlier this month. After Olivia left their home in Dallas to attend New York Fashion Week, he secretly flew to Charleston, South Carolina. Back in the land of craft beers and charmers, he faced her parents to ask for their daughter’s hand in marriage.

Alex also dropped in on some of Olivia’s friends. “I wanted her to feel all the love and the excitement in the world from the surprise of her loved ones,” he said. Yep. I love him.

To backtrack, Conner struggled with Lyme Disease for years. In honor of her late brother , Olivia took on the keynote speaker role for the Project Lyme 2024 Gala in New York City. Therefore, “Her mom, Robin, had the idea to propose while the four of us would be in New York together,” Alex added.

And so, he did. Congratulations, newlyweds!

While we will miss Olivia on Southern Charm, we are thankful she can enjoy her engagement in peace.
