RHOP’s Ashley Darby Responds to Claims She’s Messy: ‘I Am a Millennial’

Say what you want about Ashley Darby, but you have to give her props for her ability to make up excuses. On The Real Housewives of Potomac , she’s spent her first few seasons making excuses for Michael Darby’s behavior. More recently, she’s been making excuses about why they haven’t actually gotten divorced.

In between her marital issues, Ashley is an expert bone-collector. You can count on her to spill the tea without any regard to who it burns. Believe it or not, she has an excuse for that too. She blames it on a generational divide.

Being messy just comes naturally for Ashley Darby

Ahead of the RHOP Season 9 premiere , Ashley spoke to Bossip about everything from the cast shakeup to Karen Huger’s DUI. In typical Ashley fashion, she dove deep into everyone else’s business. At one point, the interviewer asked about her habit of always being at the center of the mess.

“I feel like we have a responsibility to our friendship group and to this process that we are going to be forthcoming. And some people may have a hard time getting in the groove,” Ashley explained.

“It may not be as natural to everybody to share all their business. I am a millennial, you know, I overshare, I admit that. So I’m just ushering them into the way of being free,” she continued.

Ashley might call it a tendency to overshare. Others might call it a tendency to gossip. Either way, she’s not changing her ways anytime soon. That’s why she’s still holding a flute .

Plus, underneath all of the shade and the mess, Ashley said her fellow RHOP OGs are like “family.” If you can’t be messy around them, then who else can you be messy around?
