Patricia Altschul Gives Update on Butler Michael Kelcourse Following Stroke

Patricia Altschul has been the matriarch of Southern Charm since Season 1. She lives a truly lavish life in a historic mansion made for royalty, and she knows how to act (and dress) the part. The initial allure of her grandeur was amplified by the fact that she had a live-in butler – Michael Kelcourse – who fans quickly fell in love with all on their own.

Michael is a Southern Charm star in his own right. He’s the only person who can give Patricia a little attitude while also making her a perfect martini. In recent years, Michael has undergone some health struggles, leaving him to retire from butlering for Patricia to focus on his health. Through it all, Patricia has remained a loyal friend , and that’s no different with the latest bout of bad news.

Patricia recently announced that Michael had suffered from a second stroke . She encouraged fans to send him cards for his upcoming birthday. In a second post on Instagram, Patricia posted a flashback clip of her and Michael engaging in their signature banter.

“Thank you for all of your kind messages about Michael and to everyone who has sent him birthday cards. I know he will appreciate them,” Patricia wrote in the caption. “My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is in Florida right now, especially Michael.” We can only imagine how hard it is for Michael’s loved ones to be going through the health scare and a destructive hurricane at the same time. Our thoughts are with Michael’s, friends and family, including Patricia, as they navigate these struggles. Also, we hope for nothing but health and healing for Michael in the near future.
