Denver settles lawsuit over collapse of minority business fund
DENVER — The city of Denver has reached a settlement with an investment fund after the collapse of a project to support women and minority-owned businesses. The city of Denver has agreed to pay the Domestic Emerging Markets Investments (DEMI) Fund for all of its outstanding invoices. The deal ends the relationship that was created to benefit small businesses owned by women and people of color.
Records show RTD chief of police, now under investigation, routinely drove agency vehicle over 100 mph
The Regional Transportation District's chief of police routinely drove an agency vehicle over 100 mph, data obtained by CPR News show. Data logged by a transponder attached to the vehicle assigned to Joel Fitzgerald, Sr. recorded more than a dozen trips where the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph, and dozens of trips over 90 mph, between November 2023 and May 2024.

Northern Wyoming plane crash causes fatalities, sparks wildfire
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A plane crash in a remote area of northeastern Wyoming caused an unspecified number of fatalities and sparked a wildfire, authorities said Friday. The plane crashed at about 1 p.m. north of the town of Gillette near the Wyoming state line, Campbell County officials said in a social media post. The number of fatalities was not immediately released.

CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Bureau of Land Management’s efforts to control horse populations in the North Lander Complex is complete, with 2,577 total horses rounded up. According to a BLM Facebook post, the creatures were gathered from BLM-managed public lands and adjacent private lands where they had moved outside of the complex.
