Lawmakers sue Wyoming Freedom PAC over Trump-ballot mailers
Two Sweetwater County lawmakers seeking reelection filed a defamation suit Thursday against a political action committee affiliated with the hard-line Wyoming Freedom Caucus over mailers that attack them over a vote they say never happened. The Wyoming Legislature has never in its history considered, debated, nor voted on any proposal to remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot in any election, in any state. Governor Orders Wyoming Flag be Flown at Half Staff to Honor Russell Zimmer
Cheyenne, WY (RELEASE) July 26th, 2024 — Governor Mark Gordon has ordered the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Goshen, Niobrara and Platte Counties from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, July 27 in honor and memory of Russell Zimmer. Mr. Zimmer served in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1973-1976 and in the Wyoming Senate from 1977-1992, serving as Senate Vice President, Majority Floor Leader, and as Senate President. He passed away July 12, 2024.
UW’s Wyoming Center on Aging awarded $5M grant to expand needs for older adults in the Cowboy State
The University of Wyoming has announced that their Department of Psychology’s Wyoming Center on Aging (WyCOA) has been awarded a $5 million grant that will be used to enhance partnerships to expand and strengthen geriatrics education for the health care workforce and to expand resources for the state’s older adults and caregivers.

Spuds win 40th game of season with 8-4 win over Oahe
CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Spuds struck early on Friday against the Oahe Zap and held on for an 8-4 victory, picking up their 40th win of the season in the process. With the win, the team now sits at a league-best record of 40-8. A lead-off hit-by-pitch for Elijah Reeves and a walk to Wesley Flatt set the stage for Josh Phillips, who smacked a line drive up the middle that brought Reeves home. In the very next at-bat, Dylan Schlotterback brought Flatt home with a sac fly. And that run was followed quickly by another run by Phillips made possible by a Zap passed ball.
