A 46-year-old Ravenna woman was killed Wednesday night after being struck by two vehicles on State Route 59 in Ravenna Township.

Ohio State Highway Patrol's Ravenna Post said in a news release that one of the drivers, a Lake Milton man, reported that while he was driving eastbound near Walmart about 9:45 p.m., he saw a woman lying in the road. He said he was unable to stop in time and struck her.

The release said the victim, 46-year-old Janet Lynn Slaughter of Ravenna, had been crossing the road from the north side when she was struck by a dark-colored pickup also traveling eastbound.

The truck was seen pulling to the right before fleeing the scene, the highway patrol said.

Slaughter died at the scene. The Portage County Coroner's Office transported her to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise $3,000 for funeral expenses for Slaughter at tinyurl.com/yj69wcrn .

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Ravenna post at 330-297-1441.

Ravenna Fire Department, Portage County Sheriff's Office and Complete Towing also responded.
