    Week 6 High School Football Roundup | Aurora wins big, Rootstown's McKibben has huge night

    Aurora football remained undefeated Friday with a 68-7 win over Cuyahoga Falls.

    Greenmen QB Ryan Dwyer was magnificent, completing 6 of 8 passes for 187 yards, with three of his six completions going for touchdowns. Quincy John, Tommy Tartabini and Ben Lukasik had touchdown receptions of 58, 45 and 28 yards, respectively, for Aurora (6-0, 3-0). Lucas Manderbach and Mason Romancak added multiple touchdown runs apiece. Manderbach also had three tackles for loss, two QB hurries and a sack as the Greenmen held the Black Tigers to 62 yards, including minus-5 rushing yards.

    Rootstown 41, Aquinas 6

    The Rovers ran their win streak to two behind 41 first-half points, including four touchdown passes from Blake Mullaly to Tristan McKibben. Mullaly went 5-for-5 passing overall for 173 yards while McKibben had just the four catches, all touchdowns, for a combined 167 yards. All four of his TD catches came from at least 30 yards out. The ground game was characteristically strong for Rootstown (3-3, 1-0 PTC) with Damien Reuting notching a team-leading 83 rushing yards and two touchdowns and Mason Fleck and Nick Malek also topping 50 rushing yards.

    Copley 34, Roosevelt 20

    Gabe Mansel ran for a TD and threw three touchdown passes to Andrew McKnight to guide visiting Copley (2-4, 1-2) past Roosevelt (2-4, 1-2). McKnight’s longest TD catch from Mansel went for 98 yards. Copley’s Jason Baines added a rushing TD.

    Warren JFK 27, Mogadore 8

    Aaron Rumschlag scored from a yard out to tie it at 8-8 and it stayed that way going into halftime, but the Eagles (5-1, 1-0 PTC) scored 19 points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach for the Wildcats (2-4, 0-1).

    Chagrin Falls 28, Crestwood 0

    The Red Devils (4-2, 0-1 CVC Valley) fell despite a strong performance from Nate Blasiole (25 carries, 155 yards).
