Park Fire in Northern California explodes in its first day; man arrested
A wildfire that started Wednesday afternoon in a park near Chico, California, north of Sacramento, exploded in size overnight and continued to spread through the day Thursday — and it may have been deliberately set. Cal Fire works to contain 30-acre fire near Cottonwood, evacuation warnings lifted
COTTONWOOD, Calif. — Cal Fire is currently at the scene of a vegetation fire burning up to 30 acres south of Cottonwood, according to Cal Fire's Tehama-Glenn Unit. The fire ignited in the area of southbound Interstate 5 and Bowman Road at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
