(The Center Square) – Tennessee’s law limiting Metro Nashville’s council to 20 members beginning in 2027 was determined to be unconstitutional under the local legislation clause and will not go into effect. Murfreesboro, TN - A giant oak near the entrance to Evergreen Cemetery was uprooted and downed by Monday afternoon's storms that came through the community. The National Weather Service in Nashville surveyed the damage and determined it was a weak EF-0 tornado with winds up to 75 mph that did the damage there.

Our station meteorologist reports that Jackson is under an Excessive Heat Warning Tuesday through 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Heat indexes are expected to be around 110°F.
