Polls open for state primaries, local general election
Voters can now head to the polls to vote for several state and federal primary races as well as the county's general election. Polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and voters are required to go to their designated locations. Voters in Davidson County's District 18 and who are assigned to Precinct 3, which was previously the Belmont Sport Science Center, will now need to vote at the Belmont Curb Event Center. I've spent most of my life in Indiana, but I also spent a year in both Kentucky and Tennessee, respectively. Having lived in each of those states, I came to have a good understanding of the housing market, taxes, and average utility bill in those areas. From my personal experience, the most expensive of the three was undoubtedly Kentucky. I definitely paid more in taxes and utility bills in Kentucky than the other two states. That said, the housing market was slightly better in the Bluegrass State than both Indiana and Tennessee.

George McDonald, owner and operator of Catesa Farms has been named as the 2024 Tennessee Farmer of the Year. McDonald was also the 1996 Tennessee Farmer of the Year. BetMGM, Penn, Action 24/7 fined for violating Tennessee sports wagering rules
(The Center Square) – Three Tennessee sports wagering operators were fined at the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council’s July meeting with BetMGM, Penn (ESPN Bet) and Action 24/7 receiving fines for violating rules. BetMGM was fined $25,000 for permitting wagers to be placed on penalties in a contest, which is against Tennessee rules. Action 24/7 was fined $18,000 for allowing self-excluded bettors to deposit and wager. Fanatics Sportsbook was recently fined $50,000 after it allowed eight people who were on an in-app self-exclusion list to place bets during that exclusion. Penn, which operates ESPN Bet, was fined $9,000 for failing to self-exclude a bettor and $3,000 for sending marketing messages to self-excluded bettors.
