If you need food, there’s help coming this weekend in Red House.

USDA food boxes, along with food purchased with donations from Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Providence Baptist Church, will be distributed on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. The church is located at 1303 Mt. Zion Road in Red House and the event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Anyone in the Phenix and surrounding Red House community who are residents of Charlotte County are welcome to take part.

You can receive USDA food at only one site in Virginia each month. Residents who do come are asked to bring a large cardboard box and identification. If you have questions, call Bernice Pannell at (434) 248-6465 after 5 p.m. and before 8 p.m.

In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture Policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Directions will be given as you enter the parking lot. You must stay in your vehicle and the box will be put in your trunk.
