Renovated San Jose hotel houses formerly homeless residents
A newly renovated hotel in downtown San Jose has reopened its doors to house homeless residents. The 72-room Pacific Motor Inn has already welcomed dozens of residents, and by next week it will be full. The hotel, operated by nonprofit People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), will provide temporary housing, meals and supportive services as individuals look to transition into a permanent home.
Crash on Highway 92 slows eastbound traffic on San Mateo Bridge
A five-car crash on eastbound Highway 92 on the San Mateo Bridge caused a partial closure Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said. Drivers on the bridge found the left and center lanes blocked at around 3:45 p.m. The Redwood City office of the CHP said there were complaints of pain among passengers involved, but no major injuries. All lanes opened just after 6 p.m. CHP has not confirmed what caused the crash.
