Ausbrooks, Frank lead Red Level Class of 2024

Red Level School’s valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2024 were Annabelle Ausbrooks and Nicole Frank, respectively.

Both graduates were glad to represent their senior class with these academic honors.

“Being chosen as the valedictorian of my senior class at Red Level High School is a great honor and responsibility. I have worked hard to achieve this academic success and am proud to be able to represent my class as we graduate and move on to new chapters in our lives,” Ausbrooks said.

“For me, saying that it is an honor does not even begin to cover it for me. Most of the people in my graduating class have been with me since kindergarten. To be able to look back on what we all have been through to get to this moment is very special to me,” Frank said.

Ausbrooks plans to attend the University of Alabama in the fall and major in Business Administration.

“I chose business administration because I have always been interested in understanding how organizations operate and succeed. I am drawn to the strategic decision-making involved in running a business and believe that this field will provide me with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a variety of industries,” she said.

Frank plans to attend LBW Community College in the fall but has not chosen a field of study.

“As for now, I just plan on getting my basics. I am not all too sure what the future holds for me yet, but I know I will be holding on to the Lord’s hand the whole way through,” she said.

The two named the school setting and academics as the most enjoyable parts of their time at RLS.

“The best part of being a student at Red Level High School is the tight-knit community and unwavering support that creates an enriching and personalized learning environment. With small class sizes and dedicated teachers, students benefit from individualized attention and a sense of belonging within a close network of peers,” Ausbrooks said.

“This question was pretty difficult. I have so many good memories flying through my head right now, but strangely enough, I think the most exciting was whenever I was in English class and my class started reading a new book. We would discuss it, get angry at the characters, talk as if we were all a part of the book, and wish things had maybe ended a different way. This was pretty special to me and cool to be able to share with so many amazing people,” Frank said.

While Ausbrooks and Frank were glad to graduate, they named aspects of RLS they would not forget.

“The strong sense of community creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students feel valued, supported, and surrounded by a sense of home and family. It is a unique experience I will greatly miss after graduation,” Ausbrooks said.

“I will really miss the people. I have been in the same building with the same people for 13 years and am truly going to miss them,” Frank said.

Both are ready to tackle the real world and see what lies ahead in the future.

“I look forward to the independence and freedom that comes with entering the real world. The opportunity to make my own decisions, pursue my passions, and create my own path is both exciting and empowering. I am eager to experience new challenges, meet new people, and grow as an individual knowing that I am responsible for shaping my future. In five to 10 years, I see myself owning a successful business or working in a high-level management position within a respected company. I also hope to have gained valuable international experience through studying abroad and potentially working in different countries,” Ausbrooks said.

“I am looking forward to the unknown. I am excited about the doors that will be open for me to enter and to see which ones I end up choosing. There will be new opportunities and a fresh start hopefully with many kind people along the way. I honestly do not know because a year ago I would have never seen myself here. I hope that in 10 years, I will still be happy, creative and productive while following the narrow path with Jesus Christ. Hopefully, I will be married by then,” Frank said.

Annabelle is the daughter of Brandon Ausbrooks and Melissa Ausbrooks with two siblings: a sister, Madyson Ausbrooks, and a brother, Caleb Ausbrooks.

“They are those who shaped me into the person I have become, supported me, and guided me through life,” she said.

Nicole is the granddaughter of Kathleen Spivey.

“I live and have been raised by my grandma. She is very kind and incredibly supportive as well as intelligent. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have had to ask, ‘What does that word mean?’ I really thank my grandma for everything I am now, and she has guided me and supported me through a lot of things. I love you, Grandma,” she said.
