RED BANK: BOROUGH GETS NEW MANAGER

After more than two years with a placeholder, the Red Bank council filled the top job in borough government Friday, choosing a 38-year-old municipal administrator who began his career as a police dispatcher.

The King of Rock and Roll was seen hanging in the window of Jack’s Music Shoppe. When asked if there was any reason behind it apart from decoration, manager Tim Cronin said that Elvis was previously in the backroom, and the staff didn’t know where to put it, so they said “— it, put it in the window!”

Red Bank’s council plans to ban parking in a downtown alleyway that, long before the advent of the automobile, was seen as a health threat. Last week, the council introduced, without anyone commenting, a parking ordinance amendment that would ban parking at all times on both sides of Combs Alley, located between Sally Boy’s restaurant and the stores-and-apartment building at 8 East Front Street.
