Mitchell Co. man found guilty in Fla. in child exploitation case
TALLAHASSEE, Ga. (WALB) - A Mitchell County man has been found guilty of a sex crime connected to a minor in Florida. Dustin M. Hatcher, 39, of Sale City, was found guilty by a federal jury of attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity and interstate travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

New law will allow UNF more flexibility with its reserve fund
A new bill went into effect earlier this month that could change how the University of North Florida and other Florida universities use state funds. House Bill 707 was put into effect on July 1. The new law authorizes Florida’s state universities to “retain and report” annual reserve balances that exceed a specific amount. The bill also allows universities to include a reserve fund in their carry forward spending plans.
