WHITING, Ind. - The search for two missing swimmers in Lake Michigan in Northwest Indiana has been deemed a recovery mission and will resume on Sunday. Body Found in Illinois River Saturday Morning
Peoria County, IL – A body was found in the Illinois River on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, prompting a multi-agency investigation. The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 9:32 a.m. after a fisherman discovered the body behind Liberty Steel at 7000 S. Adam St., Bartonville. The body was located approximately 300 yards southwest of the Shade-Lohmann Bridge near the Peoria Lock and Dam, caught on the dam.

If you've been feeling sick over the past couple of months, it may be due to a parasite that typically causes more illnesses in the summer months. According to the Centers for Disease Control, they're investigating an "outbreak linked to a food source" which causes a diarrheal illness reportedly due to a parasite called Cyclospora cayetanensis, or cyclosporiasis.
