Becklund wins Armed Forces Day gun raffle
Gene Becklund from Redwood Falls was the winner of Redwood County VFW Post 2553’s Armed Forces Day gun raffle. Special VFW Henry Golden Boy .22 rifles were made for the local VFW Post to be used in raising money to assist local Veterans. The next gun raffle drawing will be held for Patriot’s Day Sept. 11. CMDR Ludwig (L) presented the rifle to Gene Becklund (R) at River Valley Arms and Ammo, Morton. Submitted.

Helen Dorothy Hollingsworth was born Oct. 6, 1931, to Otto M. and Dorothy K. (Mikkelsen) Have in Redwood County near Milroy. She was baptized and confirmed in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy. She attended Tracy Public Schools for nine years and graduated from Milroy High School in 1949.
