BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) — The Bedford Fire Department responded to a motorcycle crash Friday evening that left one person injured. Around 6 p.m., Engine 1 and Rescue 1 dispatched to Magnolia Drive, where they found a person injured and lying beside the road with a street sign impaling their upper leg.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts have issued an air quality alert for the greater Roanoke Valley area. Smoke from California’s wildfires has traveled across the U.S. and arrived in the Roanoke area. Airnow.gov shows the air quality in the greater Roanoke area is now at a moderate level.
Bedford Community Health Foundation awards $121,341 in grants to local non-profits
The Bedford Community Health Foundation has completed their Spring 2024 grant cycle, with $121,341 in grants. Funds were awarded to 21 non-profits who provide health care or health-related services to Bedford residents. Since its inception, BCHF has awarded over 7.3 million dollars in grants and scholarships to benefit those living in the Bedford area.
