The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for Jefferson County, St. Charles, and St. Louis Counties and City in Missouri and Madison, St. Clair, and Monroe Counties in Illinois from 1 pm Monday, July 29th through Thursday, August 1st at 7 pm. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112 expected. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
