Girls rec stars win state championship
Jeff Davis Recreation Department’s 17 and under softball team defeated Lanier Lanier County 7-0 in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association state championship game. Jeff Davis started out strong in the first inning with a triple by Cori Mims, followed by a double from Ava Bohannon to give the Jackets a 1-0 lead. The ladies went on to add a run in the third after Mims doubled to bring in Jazmine Villasenor bringing the lead to 2-0.
