HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Good Wednesday morning. Fair skies will start off the day with very warm and muggy temperatures in the middle to upper 70s. Some patchy but dense fog will be expected for the morning commute in locations that saw heavy rainfall with yesterday’s storms. Today is looking partly cloudy with some peeks of sunshine boosting temperatures quickly into the upper 80s to lower 90s, the heat index will still hover around 100 degrees before the rain arrives. A cold front is forecast to move across the Tennessee Valley later today and this will trigger scattered to widespread rain showers and storms for the afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, isolated damaging wind gusts and small hail will be expected with any more organized and stronger storms developing later today.
