Funeral for 3 family members killed in Birmingham mass shooting to be held Saturday
Funeral plans have been announced for three family members killed in a Birmingham mass shooting at an adult birthday, including a woman and her grandson. A joint service will be held at Boutwell Auditorium Saturday for Angela Weatherspoon, 56, Markeisha Gettings, 42, and Lerandus Anderson, 24. Weatherspoon was Anderson’s grandmother.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has teamed up with the Birmingham Kiwanis Club to combat violence, by helping the youngest citizens. In the new "Books not Bullets" initiative, the Kiwanis Club is providing books for deputies to keep in their patrol cars which they can hand out and read to children.
