BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Birmingham Youth and Young Adult Fellowship Choir is inviting families to enjoy gospel music while getting prepped for the new school year. The choir is hosting a “Back to the 90′s” gospel concert for parents and students in the community. At the event, families will be given free school supplies for the upcoming year. The choir’s founder and director, Ahkeem Lee, says it was originally founded for this purpose almost nine years ago.

Prattville moves to condemn church-owned property for road improvements
PRATTVILLE − The City of Prattville has started condemnation proceedings on three parcels of land to make way for improvements of one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares. A man convicted of fatally shooting a delivery driver during a robbery attempt in 1998 was executed Thursday evening in Alabama.Keith Edmund Gavin was pronounced dead at 6:32 p.m. CDT following a chemical injection at the William C. Holman Correctional Facility in southwest Alabama, authorities said.
