19-year-old found dead in the road in Brighton identified
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in Brighton. On Saturday night around 11:30, deputies were called to Jaybird Drive and Edward Street out of request of Brighton Police. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old lying in the road near a silver car suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He died at the scene and has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner as Martez Reshard Paige, Jr.

Be ready for dense fog in Northeast Alabama until Sunday morning
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 4:28 a.m. on Sunday for dense fog until 8 a.m. for Marshall, Jackson and DeKalb counties. "Patchy Dense Fog has developed across portions of NE Alabama and in Franklin county, TN, with visibilities dropping to 1/4 mile or less in isolated areas. Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution, as visibilities will vary significantly given the patchy nature of the fog. Use low beams, reduce driving speed, and allow for plenty of room between you and other cars. The fog should begin to burn off around 8 a.m. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, or a favorite local media outlet, for further statements or updates from the National Weather Service in Huntsville," according to the weather service.

Officials say the man in the photos below is wanted for crimes committed against businesses in the Warrior area.
