'Books not Bullets': Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Kiwanis Club launch new program for children
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has teamed up with the Birmingham Kiwanis Club to combat violence, by helping the youngest citizens. In the new "Books not Bullets" initiative, the Kiwanis Club is providing books for deputies to keep in their patrol cars which they can hand out and read to children.
