Many top Northern Nevada high school basketball players to participate in All-Star Game

By Jim Krajewski, Reno Gazette Journal,

    2024-05-22

Many of the top high school basketball players from Northern Nevada will get to be on the court one more time, playing alongside some of their teammates and some rivals from opposing teams.

Two games are set for Thursday at Carson High School. The girls game will start at 6 p.m. and the boys at 8 p.m.

All levels are represented, and some athletes who won or played for state championships will be on the court again.

Both the boys and girls Class 4A-North Players of the Year are expected to participate — Jace Anderson from Damonte Ranch and Taua Puloka from Bishop Manogue.

Coaching the boys will be Brian Voyles, who stepped down at Damonte Ranch this spring, and Incline's Tim Kelly. Coaching the girls will be Zach LeMay, of North Valleys, and Erica Mckenzie, of Damonte Ranch.

Proceeds from the game go to The Basketball Coaches Association of Northern Nevada, which uses the funds to run this game.
