Keanu Reeves is about to spend part of his summer vacation in Reno.

Reeves and his band, Dogstar, will bring their Summer Vacation Tour 2024 to the Silver Legacy's Grande Exposition Hall on Friday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $55-$85. For details, call 775-325-7401 or visit caesars.com/silver-legacy-reno .

Music critics say the band isn't just about the action star in the band. Rolling Stone called "Everything Turns Around," one of the band's recent singles, "a bright bit of good-vibes rock and roll, with just the right amount of distorted crunch."

"The alternative rock band is best-known for its bass player," wrote RGJ concerts columnist Mark Earnest . "Even with the celebrity pedigree, the band does play solid and tuneful music."

The band, originally formed by Reeves and drummer Robert Mailhouse in 1991, went inactive after 2002 but regrouped in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The current lineup also includes Bret Domrose on guitar and lead vocals. Their latest album, "Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees," was released last October.
