    Bicyclist killed in early morning crash in Reno; driver left scene

    A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run early Sunday in Reno.

    At 5:12 a.m., Reno police, fire and REMSA responded to a report of a vehicle-vs-bicyclist crash in the 600 block of South Rock Boulevard. The bicyclist was declared dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

    The driver did not remain on scene.

    Years ago my sin was hit walking his dog and the driver took off. Ribs were broken and he was busted up as he flew up over the hood before he hit the road. It could have been so much worse, but I will never forget the feelings that I still have today. It is unimaginable to me how anyone could just drive off. It happened in a major intersection here in Reno... we never heard anything from the police dept.
