A national manufacturer that was voted this year among the nation’s best employers just opened a new facility in south Reno.

Minnesota-based Marvin officially opened its new distribution facility at 3030 Airway Drive. The 110,000-square-foot logistics center started operations last month and created 30 new local jobs, according to the company.

Marvin, which manufactures doors and windows for homes, traces its origins to 1912 with the founding of the Marvin Timber & Cedar Co. Today, it employs 7,500 employees in 16 cities across the United States. The company also recently placed 19th in Forbes’ list of Best Large Employers of 2024 .

Marvin’s Reno facility was developed in partnership with Tolles Development Co. and Plenium Builders.

The facility is the latest distribution center to join Northern Nevada’s growing logistics sector. Los Angeles-based real estate investment and development firm Standard Real Estate just announced plans for a new 180,000-square-foot industrial facility in north Reno .

Marvin’s distribution center will serve as a logistics hub for the western region, according to Chris Hoerth, the company’s director of logistics.

“By centralizing our operations, we can reduce transit times, enhance delivery accuracy and improve our overall efficiency,” Hoerth said. “This is a significant milestone in our ongoing effort to further strengthen our distribution network.”
