Pay for your news like a grown adult -- it's only 25 cents for two months!

The entire planet is reeling from a global tech outage described as the largest in history . Reno has suffered ... um ... three flight cancellations and 30 flight delays. So it's not really hitting us terribly hard, but airport officials are expecting a ripple effect, especially considering it's happening on a Friday in the middle of vacation season. Beyond that, banks, hospitals and Xbox Live also got hit.

What happened? Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike says it's on them, but it's not a hack -- it was an update that rippled through Microsoft systems and then to the world. Still, this is how every good tech dystopia story starts out. Jason Hidalgo has details on how we're dealing with the issue locally .

    Reno 1868.2?

Can soccer make it in the Biggest Little City? A nonprofit group is making a pitch to make a pitch on a county-owned plot of land in south Reno near South Valleys Regional Park. Their vision: a 5,500-seat stadium to host a United Soccer League club.

If built, the $40 million stadium would play host to the first pro club in the city since the Division II Reno 1868 FC folded during the pandemic. The new proposal doesn't explicitly say what level of soccer we'd see if the proposal comes together -- the USL oversees leagues at the Division II level (squaring off against teams from Sacramento-ish cities) along with Division III (i.e., Fresno) and Division IV (i.e., Davis). But first, the proposed team will have to defeat the concerns of the stadium's potential neighbors, who are worried about traffic and parking. Jaedyn Young has the full story .

    One-stop binge-eating

Right now, if you were craving doughnuts, corn dogs, ramen and boba tea at the same time, you'd have to go to at least three different places. But one Reno entrepreneur has plans to bring two Mochinut franchises to the city -- one on Mae Anne, the other on South Virginia. These trendy-snack palaces aren't quite set to go just yet -- owner Jeff Wang expects a May 2025 opening for both. Jason Hidalgo has the story, plus some great images of what mochi donuts look like .

    The rundown

    Who's winning the internet?

This $2.5 million castle for sale in Austin, Nevada, complete with turrets. It'd probably be a great place to defend yourself from the Tech Outage Wars.
