University Way at I-80 reopens as one-way Saturday; overnight ramp closures continue

University Way's overpass across Interstate 80 will reopen Saturday morning as a northbound one-way street, with construction in the area continuing through early August.

Drivers should expect new traffic patterns and overnight ramp closures as crews repave the ramps, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

NDOT said the project aims to accommodate expected traffic increases associated with the expansion of the University of Nevada, Reno.

During the remainder of the project, ramp closures are possible from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Maple Street and the I-80 eastbound on-ramp from University Way and along the I-80 westbound ramps from the Virginia Street off-ramp to the Sierra Street on-ramp.

University Way at I-80 has been closed since July 8 for resurfacing. Crews continue to work on removing aging ramp surfaces and repaving on- and off-ramps, NDOT said.

I-80 will remain open through the remainder of the project. Construction schedules are subject to change.
