HUB International acquires New Orleans insurance firm
HUB International Limited, a Chicago-based global insurance brokerage, has acquired the assets of Swanson Insurance Agency of New Orleans. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Swanson, founded in 1985, is an independent insurance agent that offers home, business and auto insurance. The business will now join Hub Gulf South.

Lafayette Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying iPad Theft Suspect
The Lafayette Crime Stoppers and the Lafayette Police Department are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect involved in a theft at a local Best Buy. On July 5, at approximately 2:00 PM, an unidentified Asian male entered the Best Buy store located at 5627 Ambassador Caffery Parkway. The suspect proceeded to remove an iPad 13 Pro, valued at $1,300, from one of the displays. The individual managed to cut the security cable securing the device before exiting the premises.
Kevin George withdraws, one finalist left for Baton Rouge schools leader
Kevin George, director of the LSU Lab School in Baton Rouge, is pulling out of the search for a new superintendent of the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. “After speaking with my family and my school family, along with much prayer and meditation, I have decided to withdraw my name from consideration for the position and remain at the best school in the United States,” George wrote in an email sent Monday afternoon to Lab School parents. "Let’s get ready to have another amazing year and Geaux Cubs!
LSU RB Trey Holly Expected to rejoin team for 2024 season after court drops attempted murder charge
LSU running back Trey Holly is expected to rejoin the team and be available for the 2024 season, ESPN Baton Rouge's Matt Moscana reported Monday. The program suspended Holly earlier in the offseason after he was charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection to the Union Parish shooting on Feb. 9. A grand jury dropped the charges in April.
