    (Reuters) - Highlights of the seventh day at the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows on Sunday (times GMT):

    0620 ZHENG SURVIVES VEKIC BATTLE

    Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen of China reached the quarter-finals by beating Paris silver medallist Donna Vekic 7-6(2) 4-6 6-2 in two hours and 50 minutes.

    The late-night thriller at Arthur Ashe Stadium wrapped up at 2.15 a.m. on Monday, beating the previous record for a women's match at the year's final Grand Slam by two minutes.

    Zheng will face Aryna Sabalenka next in her second straight quarter-final appearance in what will be an Australian Open final rematch.

    "At two o' clock in the morning, this is unbelievable. Thank you to the fans for not sleeping tonight and supporting me here," Zheng said.

    "Donna is really tough to play in hard court. She put me in a lot of pressure. In France I was totally in control but today she hit really aggressive, it was really tough but a nice victory for me and I enjoyed it."

    0259 TIAFOE MARCHES ON

    Crowd favourite and former semi-finalist Frances Tiafoe beat Australian Alexei Popyrin 6-4 7-6(3) 2-6 6-3 to secure his spot in the last eight, where he will face ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria.

    2320 ZVEREV RALLIES INTO QUARTER-FINALS

    German fourth seed Alexander Zverev recovered from a first-set loss to beat American Brandon Nakashima 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-2 and seal his place in the quarter-finals, where he will face Taylor Fritz.

    2228 GAUFF ELIMINATED BY NAVARRO IN ALL-AMERICAN CLASH

    Defending champion and third seed Coco Gauff was stunned in a 6-3 4-6 6-3 defeat by 13th-seeded American compatriot Emma Navarro. The 23-year-old Navarro booked a place in the quarter-finals for the first time, where she will meet Spain's Paula Badosa.

    "To be in the quarter-finals is insane. This is the city I was born in. It feels so special to play here. Coco is an amazing player. I have a ton of respect for her. I know she's gonna come back and win this thing again," Navarro said.

    1956 FRITZ OUTS RUUD

    American 12th seed Taylor Fritz overcame a first set wobble to beat eighth seed Casper Ruud 3-6 6-4 6-3 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals. Fritz will next meet Alexander Zverev.

    1954 DIMITROV KNOCKS OUT RUBLEV

    Bulgarian ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov held off sixth seed Andrey Rublev 6-3 7-6(3) 1-6 3-6 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, including his friend Serena Williams.

    "She gave me a good pep talk yesterday," Dimitrov said after the match about six-time winner Williams.

    1630 BADOSA BEATS WANG

    Spanish 26th seed Paula Badosa enjoyed a 6-1 6-2 win over China's Wang Yafan to reach the quarter-finals, where she will face American Emma Navarro.

    1509 PLAY UNDERWAY

    Play began under cloudy skies in New York, with the temperature hovering around 24 degrees Celsius (76 degrees Fahrenheit).
