Today for me is one of the most important days right up there with Recycle and Neighbor Day. It’s Nation Colorin Book Day.
I hope this one that is being discussed at home and any place where art is being taught. at least the fundamentals of.
Something I should be doing more often than not. I lost count of how many different themes of coloring books I have and even the actual count.
Coloring frees up the mind and helps get InTouch with the artistic side of our brain. It teaches coordination-hand and eye. And Leads to the drawing side of art as well. they both go hand in hand. Take comic books for example. The expression “all in color for a dime”.
The concept of comics both newspaper and as a book format always conjures up images of color scenery and characters. Transports to other realms and a chance to escape. It is also a freedom of expression.
Kids love to color and if we can keep that love flowing into to adult hood… one would be so better off. A stress reliever. To let go of frustration.
****Colorists work in every facet of the entertainment and publishing industry. From TV to Film to Comic books. Think movie posters.
I grew up with crayons in my hand and building blocks in the other. I gravitated to comics like a high tide to the moon. Comics and color were an important part of my life in keeping my imagination rampant and ongoing. Whichlead me into writing about pop culture and all things nostalgic. Even today I am working a new comic series one set in the Batman and DC universe featuring new characters that will interact with many of the secondary ones from the past and present. Boasting world travel with international leads and creatures… mythology and cryptids. And a lot of females in the storyline. And color will play an important part in the series.
Below- catch some info on famous colorist. They play an intricate part of comics and animation…. from panels to animation cels.
That’s it for now but I will see ya back at Reviews on the Edge right here on Newsbreak….
