Hurricane Debby wipes out power for more than 4,000 across Big Bend and South Georgia
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Hurricane Debby drenched the Big Bend early Monday. The system brought 80 mph winds and heavy rain as it passed through the Florida Panhandle. The hurricane raked across the region, dragging down power lines and uprooting trees. After the storm Monday, more than 95,000 across the Big Bend and South Georgia lost power.

Man shot several times found dead on Decatur roadside, police say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Police are investigating after a man was found dead in Decatur on Sunday, according to DeKalb County police. Officers were called to the 4100 block of Glenwood Road, a largely residential area, around 1:50 p.m. They found the victim with several gunshot wounds on the side of the road and called detectives to the scene.

The Atlanta Opera Film Studio has announced the premiere of its 96-Hour Opera Project documentary. The film will show the journey of five creative teams as they compete for the Antinori Grand Prize at The Atlanta Opera’s 96-Hour Opera Project. The project is designed as a talent incubator and competition for composers and librettists who self-identify as under-represented to create mini-operas on a presented theme. Industry leaders act as mentors and judges as the creatives write new mini-operas for a $10,000 grand prize in the competition.
