Reynoldsburg police are investigating after a couple was found dead Wednesday morning at a house in a quiet neighborhood off of Taylor Road.

Officers responded shortly after 8:30 a.m. to a report of a person lying in a backyard on the 8600 block of Robbins Loop Drive, according to a release from the department. The front door was open when police arrived and officers found a woman dead in the backyard and a man dead in a second-floor bedroom.

Police told WSYX three children were also in the home, but were found safe.

As of 1:30 p.m., Reynoldsburg police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal investigation remained at the scene. Police had taped off Robbins Loop Drive, and neighbors milling around the police perimeter said they did not know what had happened. Several residents were also out walking with dogs or children.

Police on the scene declined to speak with media, saying no one there was authorized to give out information.

Rebecca Ronning, a 10-year resident of the neighborhood, said she had interacted with the couple in passing, and they seemed normal. The neighborhood is a peaceful, low-crime area where children frequently play outside, Ronning said.

"Everybody's just always outside, and you just say, 'Hi, how's it going,'" Ronning said. "It's just a normal, peaceful neighborhood."\
