SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A Windber man is facing charges after allegedly making false reports against a local officer, according to authorities. Dwayne Sponsler reported to the district attorney's office in May that he was struck in the face and scratched by a Windber police officer, Somerset County detectives said.

Inflation-weary consumers could soon see changes coming to their favorite drinking establishments that will be gentler on their wallets. Longer happy hours and combo meals that include an adult beverage are among a number of changes to the state’s liquor code included in a bill the House approved on Wednesday sent to Gov. The Berks LaunchBox powered by Penn State recently awarded six startup companies with, “Grow Your Startup Grants,” which provide entrepreneurs participating in Berks LaunchBox programs with $500 towards a need they have identified.
