EVENSVILLE — Ted Engel, chairperson of the Rhea County Republican Party, recently announced that Glenn Jacobs, county mayor of Knox County, will be the keynote speaker for the Feb. 24, 2024, Reagan Day Dinner, which will be held in the auditorium of Rhea County High School in Evensville.

Jacobs, who has been mentioned as a possible candidate for governor in 2026, has been county mayor of Knox County since his election in 2018. He was re-elected to another four-year term in 2022.

Many will recognize Jacobs as “Kane” from WWE fame. He was on the professional wrestling circuit for more than 20 years. Before that, he was a third-grade teacher. Jacobs has also been involved in politics for many years. He was the keynote speaker at the McMinn County Reagan Day Dinner last year. Jacobs has been married to Crystal Maurisa Goins since 1995.

Ticket prices will remain the same price as last year.

“Despite Bidenomics, we are holding the line for now,” said Engel.

Ticket prices are $65 for individual seats and $325 for a table of six. To purchase tickets, contact Charles Riggs at (423) 309-4520 or email at CRiggs8136@aol.com or the Rhea County Republican Party at info@rheagop.org.
