Paying attention closely to the severe possibility tonight
9:30PM Update- Temperatures still are in the 80s even at this hour and still feeling like the 90s and even triple digits in some locations. The good news is that it is looking very likely the line of strong to severe thunderstorms will stay to the east of the area and into Wisconsin overnight tonight. There still could be an isolated strong to severe storm overnight in the area, but anything widespread will stay to the east. This is good news as we do not need any additional rainfall nor any severe weather. LeSueur and Rice County though have been placed are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 4am as they look to be just on the western edge of the line of storms that develop overnight.

Nearly two dozen city streets, county highways and township roads remain closed throughout Rice County due to floodwaters. The number seems unprecedented.
