3 FFA members compete at sectional; Wallin moves on to state

Three members of the Rice Lake FFA competed in the Section One FFA Speaking Contest held in Bloomer on March 12, having advanced from the district contest held in February in Rice Lake.

At sectionals, James Meyer placed third in the Prepared Speaking Contest with his speech on “Guernseys for Guatemala.” Isabella Wallin and Daniel Broker competed in the Extemporaneous Contest, drawing the topics for their speech the night of the event, and were given 30 minutes to prepare a speech. Wallin placed first and will advance to the State FFA Convention, where she will compete against 10 members from across the state. Broker placed second.
