    Sons of Norway sets program on The Sloopers

    Sons of Norway Dovre Lodge will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Chetek Lutheran Church, 1419 Second St., Chetek. The program for the evening will feature a presentation by Robert Fossum on The Sloopers and the 200th anniversary of them leaving Norway and coming to America on a 54-foot boat, the Restauration. The Sloopers left their homes in Norway seeking a new life in the New World.

    The evening's festivities will begin with a potluck dinner. Bring a favorite dish to share. Everyone is welcome.

    Sons of Norway is a non-profit organization for women, men and young people interested in Scandinavian culture and heritage. All are welcome to an evening of fellowship, fun and celebration of Scandinavian heritage.
