    Softball

Chippewa Falls 13, Rice Lake 8

In a high-scoring battle it was the Cardinals maintaining their top spot in the Big Rivers in Thursday's matchup in Chippewa Falls.

Rice Lake outhit Chippewa Falls 14-10 but three Warrior errors allowed the Cardinals (12-1, 7-1) to score three unearned runs, and Rice Lake (8-5, 4-4) left eight runners on base.

Madi Rowe and Emily Kalina each had three hits. Kalina drove in two runs and scored once, while Rowe scored twice. Kamryn Kunz and Addie Seelow were 2 for 3. Seelow had three RBIs, while Veda Stenseth had a hit and two driven in.

After falling behind 11-3 through three innings the Warriors fought back with a five-run fourth. Chippewa Falls extended its lead up to five in the bottom of the fourth and Rice Lake went scoreless in the final three innings.

    Baseball

Chippewa Falls 1, Rice Lake 0

It was the Cardinals coming out on top in a pitcher's dual Thursday at Chippewa Falls.

Easton Stone tossed six innings for the Warriors (4-7, 1-5), giving up six hits and one run. He didn't issue a walk and finished with seven strikeouts. His counterpart for Chippewa Falls (6-4, 4-2) was Jakeb Lequia, who threw six innings, giving up eight hits and four walks, with five punch outs.

The game's lone run came on a home run by Lucas Logslett in the second inning.

Lucas Roux and Brady Musil each had two hits to lead the Warrior offense.

In the seventh the Warriors put both the tying and go-ahead runners into scoring position. The first two batters reached by with a walk and hit-by-pitch. Rice Lake sacrifice bunted the runners up and an intentional walk filled the bases. The Warriors were unable to score as the Cardinals got a fielder's choice force out at home plate and then a ground out to third that ended the game.
