    Police Logs: Student threatens to shoot up school

    The police dispatch center receives several hundred calls weekly. The small sampling below shows their diversity.

    Sunday, Sept. 812:02 p.m. Male subject says that female subject was getting property from him and when she left she threw an object at his windshield causing damage. She is eastbound on Highway O. Male subject will wait to see an officer. 12:03 p.m. Officer is out with female subject. 12:53 p.m. Both will be cited for disorderly conduct. Male subject was advised of the sex offender ordinance. They both had the same story and will be going their separate ways. West Ave., Rice Lake.

    Monday, Sept. 93:56 p.m. Caller says she has a free library in front of her house that was vandalized. Someone smashed an egg inside of it. 4:12 p.m. RP just wants this logged. LaSalle Ave., Barron.

    7:55 p.m. Caller says he heard about 6-9 gun shots. He drove down the road to make sure everyone was OK. He got to this intersection and found a bunch of 9mm casings in the road. As he approached this intersection about a quarter-mile down the road there was a car parked on the road then took off eastbound on 8½ Avenue. 8:27 p.m. Officer collected the casings as evidence. Will be in the area. Barron.

    7:55 p.m. Received a call from Rice Lake Fire Department advising they received a call from a man advising he received a call from his mother saying there is a lot of blood and then the line hung up. 8:07 p.m. Officer made contact with mother who advised she was scratched by a cat. She is 10-2. Wisconsin Ave., Rice Lake.

    Tuesday, Sept. 1010:07 a.m. Caller says she received an email with some threats, it sounds like a scam but the person sent a photo of a trailer that is next door to her. 10:14 a.m. Caller was advised to mark it as spam. 20 1/8 Ave., Rice Lake.

    5:50 p.m. One injured who is on blood thinners, he hit his head. 5:51 p.m. Two-boat 10-50. 5:53 p.m. 59-year-old male is bleeding out of the ears. 5:55 p.m. Chopper requested. RP en route to the boat landing with the patient. Both disabled pontoons are on the lake still. 6:06 p.m. Recommend a second ambulance respond to the Pokegema boat landing. Mayo paged. 6:15 p.m. Cancel Mayo. There is only one patient. 6:17 p.m. Cancel Lifelink. Did same. 8:47 p.m. Both pontoons are secured in impound. Officer will be writing the crash. Chetek.

    Wednesday, Sept. 119:49 a.m. Caller says a person is standing on the Highway D overpass as he went southbound on Highway 53. Concerned the person may jump. 10:04 a.m. Officer went past Highway D on Highway 53 and did not see anyone. Will exit and check the area. 10:08 a.m. Checking Highway OO. 10:12 p.m. Officer checked the Highway OO and 21st Street overpasses, no locate. 10:12 a.m. Checked the Highway D overpass, no locate.

    12:58 p.m. Officer requested an informational CAD for the middle school. 1:01 p.m. A student made a threat to shoot up the school. The assistant principal investigated and spoke to the student who advised it was a joke. There is no threat and the student will be suspended from school. The parents were also notified. A parent/staff e-mail will be sent out later today. Cameron Road, Rice Lake.

    4:02 p.m. Caller is requesting an officer for a standby while she goes to a residence to confront her former cleaning lady about some items that were taken throughout the last six years. Rice Lake Police Department was dealing with this and some items were returned and she wants to confront the person in reference to the rest of the items. 4:21 p.m. Officer made contact with caller who was looking for law enforcement to go with to intimidate the other party. She was advised we would not do that and if she wanted to file a theft report that would need to go through the Rice Lake Police Department.

    Thursday, Sept. 1212:53 p.m. Caller reports a plane that they heard with engine problems. They located the plane in a cornfield on Highway B by 11th Street. Spoke to the pilot who advised no injury and no need for fire. Sept. 12, 1:43 p.m. Both the FAA and NTSB have been notified. 3:23 p.m. The FAA will be up tomorrow to investigate, then the plane will be released to the pilot. Cumberland.

    1:59 p.m. Caller says there are two dogs chained up outside. One of the dogs keeps barking and the other is not moving. Caller attempted to knock on the door to the residence but got no answer. 2:04 p.m. The dog is dead. 2:19 p.m. Officer spoke to the owner and removed the dog for them. Slocumb St., Rice Lake.

    Friday, Sept. 137:40 a.m. Caller says her children ran into the woods at Roux Park, refusing to go to school. 7:41 a.m. While on the phone the caller got her children back in the car and wants a phone call from officer. Rice Lake.

    10:48 a.m. Employee from public health reports she received an anonymous complaint about an abandoned house. While at a garage sale, the homeowner in a house north of the residence told her kids have been in and out of the house. 10:50 a.m. Employee identified female subject is the owner and is in a home. 12:15 p.m. It looks as if the owners are dead. 1:06 p.m. Officer spoke with the daughter and employee from public health, who is going to try to get an order to condemn. 13¾ Ave., Cameron.

    2:36 p.m. Man called wanting an ambulance to take him to Mayo Eau Claire. He was offered a local ambulance to take him to a local medical facility and he did not want that. Male said, “I guess I’ll keep plodding along.” He was advised to call back if he decides he wants a local ambulance/hospital. 1st St., Cameron.

    Saturday, Sept. 148:36 a.m. 911 caller had previously called the non-emergent line asking about the rules/regulations of shooting ducks on Rice Lake. He was advised to look that information up on the Wisconsin DNR website or call the WI DNR hotline and was given the number. He then called 911 asking the same question. He was told the same information. 21 1/8 St., Rice Lake.
