The Rice Lake Warriors girls volleyball team has won four straight matches after a straight set victory at Chippewa Falls on Thursday.

Rice Lake improves to 14-6 overall and 3-1 in the Big Rivers.

Addison Schmidt led the Warriors with 15 kills and had two aces. She also had two solo blocks and three assisted blocks. Madilyn Rowe added nine kills and Stella Scharf had five. Abby Doebereiner assisted on 20 points and Madilyn DeLawyer on 13.

Sedona Gay led the Warriors with 11 digs with Rowe adding 10. Stella Leaf recorded eight digs with both Emily Kalina and DeLawyer at six.

The Warriors found themselves in a battle in the opening set having to fight back from a deficit. Trailing by a few points through much of the game, Rice Lake had a 5-1 run to get within 20-19. An extended 10-3 run got the Warriors to game point but Chippewa Falls (14-11, 0-3) scored three times in a row. The Warriors bounced back, getting a kill and then a block from Schmidt and then a kill from Rowe to finish off the set, winning 27-25.

Game two was Rice Lake's strongest as the Warriors pulled away midway through. Up a point, 12-11, Rice Lake had a run of 7-1 to lead by seven. An extended 11-2 run had the Warriors up 23-13 and despite a little push back from Chippewa Falls, Rice Lake finished the game, winning 25-17.

The Warriors started well in the third, leading 6-1, but the Cardinals evened the game at seven points. After Chippewa Falls led 16-15, Rice Lake had a stretch with kills from Doebereiner, Rowe and Schmidt and pulled in front 20-17. Rice Lake kept Chippewa Falls at bay the rest of the way with Schmidt sending a spike into the floor to win the set 25-23 and the match 3-0.

Rice Lake returns to the court Oct. 3 at home against Eau Claire Memorial.
