Golf: Rice Lake's Ahlberg qualifies for sectionals

Rice Lake freshman Annika Ahlberg tied for 12th place and captured an individual qualifying spot during Wednesday's Division 2 girls golf sectional at Spooner Golf Club.

Ahlberg scored a 104 during her 18 holes played in Spooner. Her total gave her the third and final individual spot at sectionals to be played Monday at Luck Golf Course.

Rice Lake finished fifth in the standings with a score of 439. Advancing to sectionals as teams were host Spooner (368), Hayward (388) and Luck/Unity/Frederic (428).

The Warriors also had freshman Callie Bolduc score 108, four shots back of qualifying, while junior Hailee Lindow completed her round with a 112. Seniors Trinity Mathews and Emma Skar scored 116 and 121, respectively.

Joining Ahlberg as sectional qualifiers are Northwestern duo Reagan Eberhardt (91) and Grace Schmidt (103). Topping the individual leaderboard was Spooner's Avery Voeltz after she shot an eight over par 80, finishing one stroke in front of Hayward's Tara Eckes in second.
