Recent Rice Lake High School graduate Eliana Sheplee was named the winner of the Pat Richter Award from the Wisconsin Sports Network as the Three-Sport Athlete of the Year.

Sheplee was an all-state selection in volleyball, basketball, and track and field during her senior season for the Warriors.

The Marines Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is an honor given on WisSports.net to the top senior boys and girls three-sport athletes in the state.

The award recognizes student athletes who embody the spirit of teamwork, perseverance and discipline across multiple sports.

In the fall Sheplee led the Warriors with 470 kills and 294 digs as the Warriors' volleyball team qualified for the Division 2 state tournament for the third time in team history. Sheplee was named to the all-state second team by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association. She was also an all-state honorable mention in her junior season.

Sheplee graduated as the girls basketball career scoring leader for Rice Lake. She finished her four seasons on the court with 1,555 points, scoring a team-high 20.7 points per game as a senior. Sheplee also added 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.2 assists this past season.

Following the season she was named an honorable mention all-state selection by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association for the third time in her career.

In the spring Sheplee helped Rice Lake win a Division 2 girls track and field state championship. She won her fourth 400-meter Division 2 state title, becoming the 25th girl to win the same event at the state meet four times. She also added state runner-up finish for the 200 and sixth place finish for the 100. As sophomore Sheplee won a state title in the 200 as she finished her four seasons for the Warriors with five individual state titles.

Sheplee was an all-state selection by the Wisconsin Track Coaches Association for both the 400 and 200 as senior, as she received all-state honors in the two events in all four years of high school. She holds the Division 2 state record for the 400 with a time of 55.25 seconds, and as a freshman in 2021 she had broken a 36-year-old record in the event.

Sheplee will play basketball and run track for Northern Iowa.

Rice Lake has now had two recipients of the Pat Richter Three-Sport Athlete Award as Jenna Orr received the honor in 2013.

Hugh V. "Pat" Richter was a three-sport athlete at Madison East, playing football, basketball and baseball. At the UW-Madison, Richter earned nine varsity letters, three times each in football, basketball and baseball. He was a two-time All-American on the football field for the Badgers, and he also served as UW-Madison's athletic director for 14 years.
